As president of BenchmarkPortal, Sean has worked with many Fortune 500 companies that want to optimize call center operations. He is involved with benchmarking call centers, with arranging training (for directors, managers and agents) and with identifying initiatives that will enable call centers to be more efficient and cost-effective. During the five years that he has been with the company, he has helped BMP grow and develop new programs. He is responsible for a staff of eighteen, and for sales and marketing, as well as for other aspects of the company’s operations.
Sean is also closely involved with BMP's College of Call Center Excellence. He pioneered On Demand Leaning for call centers, which allows call center personnel to take courses when it is convenient for them. Recently he helped develop the call center industry's first Social Media course, as well as the courses on Quality Management and Workforce Management.
Sean has been involved with other call center industry firsts. More than a year ago, he developed the industry's first online radio show, "CallTalk," which has had over 10,000 downloads to date! This show brings industry experts on as hosts to give the audience vendor-neutral advice about specific call center issues.
Sean graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in international marketing. He then obtained a degree in international business from the Haarlem School Business in The Netherlands. He began his career at NBC's International Marketing Department where he spent three years and helped introduce many of NBC's hit shows to international markets. This experience stirred Sean's entrepreneurial spirit. He moved on to start Concierge Cervantes from the ground up. This company specialized in assisting Spanish-speaking tourists book trips and adventures in Colorado. Sean turned this enterprise into a multi-million-dollar company. He next started several businesses in Colorado: companies that promoted live music venues and that handled conferences and events. While managing a team of professionals who handled all aspects of business, he developed and enhanced his management skills. He now uses those skills to run BenchmarkPortal. Sean is particularly proud of having been on the National Whitewater Rafting Team when they took part in the world championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia. The team placed 4th, which was the best that the US had done until that time.
